[--We are home now with a lot of catching up to do. Currently, I have added pictures through March 3...

And today, I added titles for each day, saying what we did and offering a web site which acts as a placeholder until I get to adding our pictures and stories. Sigh.--]

Introduction

As a general rule our vacations are usually spent on the road. We joyfully pack the car to the gills and head off humming “on the road again” to see America.

Year’s ago when my mother owned a house in Florida I went down to visit a few times but Harry could find nothing that could make him want to go. Time and circumstance changes one’s outlook. A few years ago the lure of sunshine in February started looking better and better. So we headed south rationalizing that we were going to the Everglades and therefore it wasn’t really the Florida where the ‘old’ people were. The subsequent visits always involved Red Sox Spring Training and were therefore also acceptable. Then the inevitable happened, our hair began to turn gray and we were the ‘old’ people. Add to that Harry’s desire to recuperate from his recent surgery someplace where he could exercise everyday and the die was cast.

We have rented a two bedroom condo in the Falling Waters complex in Naples. Two bedrooms so we could encourage family to come stay a while and Naples because it was near our friends the McKenzie’s, Harry's friend from Peet's Dave Biggs and his wife Ellen, and it is close to Ft. Myers for Red Sox Spring Training.

So, what follows, as accessed through the various navagation mechanisms on the top of each page as well as from the table of contents on the left, is a record of the nine weeks we spent coming, going and living in Florida in the Winter of 2009. At the top of the table of contents at the left is a page named Directory which is an alternative (to chronological) way to see what we did from January 30 through April 2, 2009.
