Marsha: It almost seemed ridiculous to spend a perfectly lovely sunny day inside a movie theater but Harry had always wanted to see one of the
HD Live Broadcasts of the Metropolitan Opera So off we went to
Ft. Myers to see Lucia di Lammemore. Harry grew up with Opera as part of the regular background music in his home on Saturday afternoons. As a young woman his mother had sang in the chorus of the Metropolitan Opera. Dutiful wife, with no opera background, agreed to tag along. We were both pleasantly surprised with how much we enjoyed the performance. To be able to watch opera with subtitles, excellent sound, with comfortable seats, with an up close and personal view and eat popcorn was truly a treat. And there were backstage interviews at intermissions and cameras backstage to watch the scenery changes. We could even hear the stagehands swearing. We were very surprised to look at our watches when we exited and find that four hours had gone by very quickly.
