Gout Again! and Lunch with the McKenzies
I had an operation in the beginning January which triggered a bout of The Gout. I have no idea why gout gets an article, but in most writing about this condition, it is referred to with the article "the", giving it an exalted status. This was one of the more painful experiences I have ever had, and it took almost a week before I could walk comfortably again. I think this illustration from 1799 captures the full sense of the condition:

I took some pretty heavy duty medications to calm things down and thought it was gone. But noooo, it came back today. Fortunately, I still had some of the heavy duty meds which cleared the swelling in only a day.
Being a little incapacitated today, we restricted our activities to a lunch visit with Alex, Kathy and Zoey at Rock Creek RV Resort where they have their Motor Home moored (is that the right word?). This is just 3.5 miles from our condo.
